Character

Region

Languedoc-Roussillon

In the South of France, adjacent to the Rhônetal, the country’s largest wine region – the Languedoc – embraces the coastline of the Mediterranean with its vineyards and picturesque old stone houses. The climate is characterised by an abundance of sunlight, mild winters and hot summers. The vines that flourish here, mainly on limestone soils, are strong and robust thanks to the dryness of the region. Alongside viticulture, olives are also cultivated agriculturally without any additional artificial irrigation. The Languedoc is a multifarious region, with the Mediterranean ambience omnipresent: the typical earthenware, the light textiles and the dainty, delicious cuisine.

Producer/Brand

Domaine Lafage

Between the sea and mountains, en route between Perpignan and the Mediterranean coast, Domaine Lafage is headquartered in an old stone country house from the 15th century. After six generations of winemaking, the winery is now managed by Jean-Marc and Éliane Lafage, a couple of experienced oenologists, whose cellar has been completely rebuilt and is thus perfectly equipped according to the current international state-of-the-art technology. The vines thrive on diverse, varied terroir. With the support of highly qualified employees, the Lafages process them into modern, trendy wines.
