Region

Waadt

For more than 1000 years, wine has ranked among the most important cultural goods in the canton of Waadt. Home to the Chasselas grape, the region produces twice as much white wine as red wine. The winegrowing area on the northern shores of Lake Geneva is made up of three regions: In Chablais the rocky soils yield aromatic, tangy and powerful wines. The warm region of Lavaux produces floral, fruity and dense wines with a creamy texture. Interposed between these two regions is the La Côte, which benefits from the protection of the Jura mountain range and the balancing influence of the lake. On the gravelly soils in the proximity of the lake, these conditions give rise to wines of utmost sophistication.

Producer/Brand

Celliers du Chablais

In Aigle in the heart of Chablais, the cooperative-run traditional winery produces traditional Vaud wines as well as modern, innovative and award-winning wines with heart and soul. General Henri Guisan of Celliers du Chablais bought a large portion of the vines around the world-famous Château d'Aigle. The vineyard of 135 winegrowers, who keep their yields at a minimum for quality reasons and harvest manually, is processed as naturally as possible. The unique terroir is responsible for the floral and mineral aromas and the fruity flavours of the Celliers du Chablais wines are thanks to the many hours of sunshine.
