La Spinetta
The greatest passion of Giorgio Rivetti, who runs La Spinetta, is his Barolo. But his roots lie in the muscat grape: when the family founded La Spinetta in the heart of the Moscato region in 1977, they demonstrated the potential of muscat by creating the first Italian crus. Today, La Spinetta is a byword for quality Tuscan wines that emphasise the unique nature of the grapes and terroir, and reflect the characteristics of the vineyards and the soil. Giorgio Rivetti is a successful man. Alongside his brothers Carlo and Bruno, he injects plenty of passion, creativity and hard work into the running of La Spinetta. Low yields, hand-picked healthy grapes and an absence of fertilisers form the basis for their wines, which are high in quality and rich in extract.
