Quinta do Tedo

At the beginning of the 1990s, wine marketing specialist Vincent Bouchard who hails from the renowned Burgundy family Bouchard Père et Fils and his wife Kay realised their dream of establishing their own winery in the Douro valley on the 250-year-old Quinta do Tedo estate. Situated on the classic granite soils of Douro Alto, Quinta do Tedo is flanked to the West by the River Tedo and to the North by the River Douro. The vineyard has the highest classification of the Douro, it is a class A location and thus one could say belongs to the grand crus of Douro. Primarily Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão are cultivated here.
